New York Times Historical - full text, full image

I'm happy to announce that faculty, students and staff at Linfield now have
access to the New York Times from 1851-2003 on the internet!

You now can search and retrieve articles, editorials, photographs, maps,
obituaries, editorial cartoons, letters to the editor and advertisements,
the entire paper as it was printed, from your dorm room, your office, your
home or even when abroad. This is a wonderful leap from microfilm, place and
time bound within Nicholson Library.

To access:
From the Libraries' home page
Click on Periodicals@Linfield from right sidebar
Type in New York Times
Select "Proquest Historical Newspapers”

Current issues: Because this product is archival, there will always be a 3-year gap between this version of the New York Times and the current issue. But you can find articles without the graphics up to current day via Lexis Nexis Academic Universe. Simply follow the same path through Periodicals@Linfield above, but choose “Academic Universe” and change dates on search engine accordingly.

We also have the microfilm for The New York Times through 2006 which includes all advertising and graphics.

This purchase was made possible by the Vivian Meissner Foley Library
Endowment.

Enjoy this valuable resource. Please call if you have any questions.
