Yusef Komunyakaa, Poetry Reading
Author of 14 books of verse, the most recent, WARHORSES, published in 2008. For Vernon Vernacular: New and Selected Poems he received the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award and the Pulitzer Prize in 1994. Other recognitions include the San Francisco Poetry Prize, the 2001 Ruth Lily Poetry Prize, the 2007 Louisiana Writer Award. He taught at Indiana University, at Princeton University, and is currently a professor in the Creative Writing Program at New York University. The author will be introduced by Josef Jarab, Renshaw Professor at Linfield College, and translator of Komunyakaa' s work into Czech language.
